The President, Board of Directors, and Members of the Rotary Club of Yenagoa Eco, District 9141 Nigeria, heartily invite you to her Installation Ceremony of the Charter President and Board Members for the 2022/2023 Rotary Year on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022.
The Rotary Club of Yenagoa Eco is the Second of its kind in Nigeria, mandated by its establishment to focus on environmental management and Protection. The Club works to promote environmental conservation, ecosystem restoration, and climate change mitigation. Thus, the installation event is aimed at sensitizing participants on our core thematic areas of work as well as give opportunity for invitees to subscribe to our laudable projects.
The installation events will start on October 15th 2022 and end with a Grand Finale on the 23rd of October 2022. Activities for the week include:
- Health, Environmental, Agriculture & Livelihood Sensitization (HEALS) Programme
- Building Capacity of Rural Communities in Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA)
- Plant Economic Tree (PET) Project.

Every year, Rotary International through the Districts and Clubs carry out projects to address its seven areas of focus aimed at improving the lives of people in our communities. The Rotary Club of Yenagoa Eco plans to achieve the Rotary Objective of Community Service, through the implementation of the following projects within the 2022 2023 Rotary Year.
PLANT ECONOMIC TREE PROJECT (PET)
Rotary Club of Yenagoa Eco seeks to plant 2,500 Economic trees by 30th June 2023. Already the Club has made arrangements with the University of Port Harcourt for Economic Tree seedlings. We have experts for the planting. With partnership with the ministry of Environment and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as Corporate organizations and individuals we can actualize this vision.

BUILDING CAPACITY OF RURAL COMMUNITIES IN CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE (CSA)
Communities will be mobilized and trained on climate smart agricultural practices. We will sensitize communities on climate change as a cause of conflict and mainstream conflict sensitive approaches in climate change mitigation and adaptation processes as well as eco-system restoration using the Rotary Four-Way-Test as a guiding principle.
We will provide crop seedlings and build local plantain suckers multiplication chambers, introduce farming and other Agricultural value-chain businesses to encourage youths in Agriculture for food security and income generation.
HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAL, AGRICULTURE & LIVELIHOOD SENSITIZATION (HEALS) PROGRAMME
Rotary Club of Yenagoa Eco seeks to educate the public and in particular School age children and youth on Drug Use. This has become a menace that is ravaging our society. 70 percent of youth in health facilities have drug related mental cases. Furthermore, we intend to work with the State Government Environmental Vanguards by establishing environmental unions/clubs in rural communities and schools. Rotary Club of yenagoa Eco, will carry out environment, agriculture and livelihood support activities for interested communities that are willing to collaborate with the club. The discovery of local Bio-fertilizer as a climate change mitigation and adaption plan for increased agricultural production, how how to reduce smalls from livestock farms such as poultry and piggery, etc.
